What is the advantage of using the ellkeri's exfoliating face mask over other products?
These beautiful and potent Australian active and natural ingredients have been hand picked by the directors with an enhanced delivery through some of the latest advances in science. It is important to us that you receive effective percentages of the active ingredients to ensure you receive maximum outcome for your skin.
Most clay masks contain a quantity of 10-15% clay. Our Scrub + Mask's clay content is much higher than that, which drives more effective skin results. We use all organic and natural Australian ingredients which we have chosen because of their combined properties. Underpinning our actions is a philosophy of walking as gently as possible on the earth. We believe in sustainable, ethical and organic principles which speak through our natural skincare products and our day to day business activities and choices.
Why should I use a brush?
It is more hygienic than using your fingers to get it out of the jar and you will get an even coverage. It is also a much faster way to apply our mask and helps not to waste product! Remember to wash your brush after applying the mask, allow it to completely dry and store it in a clean, dry container or bag. You can of course use a recycled plastic spoon, a silicone spoon or spatula to remove the mask from the jar if you like to be more tactile by using your fingers to spread the mask over your face.
Is it normal for my skin to tingle?
Yes! Our product is packed with fabulous Australian botanical actives and it is normal to sometimes feel a tingle as the botanical actives work on your skin. On rare occasions you may also experience a slight pinking of the skin. This should dissipate quickly.
I have sensitive skin, can I use the ellkeri products?
We recommend a patch test 24 hours in advance to using our product, however our products contain no parabens, sulfates or chemical additives and are formulated to be gentle on all skin types especially sensitive skin and to protect the skin barrier. There are so many botanicals solutions available today that there is no need for overuse of harsh ingredients that strip the face of its very necessary skin barrier.
Does the Renewal exfoliating face mask treat acne?
Our product draws out toxins, pollutants, and oils that clog the pores of your skin. It can be incorporated into any skin routine. It does however take persistence and regular use to keep the pores clean.
What if I have experienced breakouts after first use of the renewal exfoliating face mask?
The renewal exfoliating face mask detoxes, invigorates, refines, and brightens your skin. When detoxing the skin sometimes breakouts occur, this is something you need to happen. If you experience a few spots after using the mask, don’t worry, it means it is doing its job! All the sebum is being drawn to the surface of the skin, so once you have moved past this phase, your skin should be clear, and you won’t experience this every time you use the mask. If your spots are in the areas where you normally have enlarged pores and congestion, then this is called a purge and it is a good thing!
Do skincare products need to contain preservatives?
Yes, preservatives are necessary to ensure the product does not get furry and mouldy or the oils go rancid. Whilst we have utilised the smallest possible amount of preservative it is important to note that without preservatives the renewal exfoliating face mask would only last a few days in the fridge. All the preservatives used in our product are eco-certified approved for organic skincare products with ECOCERT.
Are your product tested on animals?
Never Ever ! At ellkeri we believe in ethical practices, therefore none of our ingredients or products are or will ever be tested on animals.
Where do you source your materials from?
Our ingredients are sourced from within Australia. We work with reputable and ethical suppliers to ensure all our ingredients are of the highest quality and ethically supplied. The native Australian extracts are primarily wild harvested or organically farmed and are from different locations around Australia. The clays and minerals we use are native to and sourced from Australia. As they are the best in the world why would we not?
What is the shelf life of your products?
Our products have a typical shelf life of up to 24 months. Your product is housed in special frosted glass and if kept out of direct sunlight and at 25 degrees or below they will retain their freshness longer. Once opened it is advisable to use your products within 6 months.
I'm pregnant. Is it safe to use your products?
Our products do contain active ingredients in the form of botanical extracts, clays, minerals and essential oils. We recommend that you seek medical advice before using this product during your pregnancy.
I have eczema / rosacea. Can I still use the mask?
Whilst our exfoliating face mask is supported by the Australian botanical active extracts and some lovely oils, clay masks are known to dry the skin so it’s important to follow the recommended usage. Like previously mentioned please do a patch test at least 24 hours before you use it. You might experience a mild tingling sensation on your first use. Although it doesn’t contain any ingredients that might trigger eczema or rosacea, everybody is different so we suggest to check with your doctor if you’re sensitive to any of the ingredients.
